The Jam

Session 1: June 25 – 29, 2012 (Monday – Friday)
Session 2: July 2 – 7, 2012 (Monday – Saturday, with July 4th off)

Tuition: $275 per week before May 15th
-            after May 15th, add a $50 late fee
-            checks payable to BGA JAM
-            we do not accept credit cards

Week 1 (June 25 – 29, Monday – Friday)
Monday – Wednesday: 8:30 am – 3:00 pm
Thursday: 8:30 am until Clinic Band Showcase is over
Friday: 9:30 am until the JAM is over

Week 2 (July 2 – 7, Monday – Saturday)
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:30 am – 3:00 pm
(Wednesday is off for the 4th of July)
Friday: 8:30 am until Clinic Band Showcase is over
Saturday: 9:30 am until the JAM is over

Application Deadline

Applications are due by May 15th. After May 15th, full payment for The JAM and a $50 late fee must be included with the application.  Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis until all spots are filled for each session of the JAM, so it is best to apply as soon as possible. You will be notified via e-mail of your acceptance. If you wish to apply after May 15th, please contact us first at rock@bgajam.com to determine if we have any openings, and include the $50 late fee with your application.  Once all spots are filled, we will start a waiting list in case their are cancellations. After May 25th, tuition can not be refunded, as we have already hired staff and instructors for the camp.

Student Qualifications

Students should be ages 11-19 and have a minimum of 2 years experience with their instrument. Exceptions to age and experience are sometimes granted, so contact the JAM to arrange a live audition if this applies to you. Most students attend regular weekly music lessons on their instruments throughout the calendar year. Many perform in music showcases, school talent shows, school bands or garage bands, and are active in musical theater. There are NO beginner lessons at the JAM.

To apply for the JAM, you must submit all of the following items:

  1. Application
  2. Medical Form
  3. Waiver
  4. Questionnaire
  5. $100 non-refundable deposit per week (Checks made payable to “BGA – the JAM”)
  6. Audition recording/video (for students who did not attend JAM 2011 and ALL students who are applying to be vocalists; provide a youtube link, cassette, CD, MP3 or DVD of 1 song for vocalists, 2 songs for instrumentalists; basic recording, not studio quality)
  7. Recent photo

Your application will not be considered until all items and the $100 non-refundable deposit are received. Tuition is due no later than May 25th.  Full payment is required prior to the beginning of camp, or the student may not be allowed to attend.

Scholarships

If you are in need of a scholarship, please request a tuition assistance application from the JAM by contacting us at rock@bgajam.com or at 615.435.3503. Students requesting tuition assistance must meet certain requirements in order to be approved. The maximum amount of assistance available per student is $175 of the $275 tuition.

Students receiving scholarships are expected to volunteer 5 hours for each week of scholarship they receive.  These hours may be served during or after camp as determined by the camp director.  Not fulfilling volunteer hours can disqualify the student from receiving future scholarships at the JAM.
