The JAM - New Format for 2010
All Bands All Day
Our experience tells us that the students who attend the JAM come first and foremost to perform in bands, to learn by participation, to collaborate creatively with a highly respected and educated clinician, and to network with other students. Many students meet at The JAM and continue on as established bands, playing a variety of venues in the Nashville area. We feel that the JAM students learn much more by ACTIVELY participating in music clinics. To maximize playing time and enhance intense instructional time, this year the students will participate in two bands - a morning clinic band and an afternoon showcase band. While the students will perform with each band, the two bands will be entirely different from each other. Each band will be showcased during evening performances on Thursday and Friday nights.
Supper Club to Benefit the JAM!
Southern Exposure Magazine and Kimbro’s Cafe in downtown Franklin host an event called "Supper Club" on the third Monday of each month. A portion of the proceeds go to a different non-profit and new beneficiary every six months. The JAM Summer Music Camp has been selected as the recipient for February through July supper clubs! We invite and encourage all of you to come and have an incredible meal during the next six months to support The JAM Summer Music Camp!
February 15 is the first supper club to benefit The JAM. Tickets are $35 each, and the doors open at 6:30 with dinner being served promptly at 7 p.m. There is a different guest chef each time, as well as entertainment (the dinner is always delicious!) In February, Laura Hill, JAM director, will be the chef cooking up Italian cuisine with entertainment from the WannaBeatles! Get your tickets early, because space is limited. But, if you aren't able to attend the first one you have five more opportunities!
